As a proud member of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, we’re committed to finding jobs for transitioning service members and other veterans. These men and women have done so much for us, and now it’s time to give back and ensure they can lead successful lives after military service by bringing their meaningful skills to the workplace. In addition, we’re excited to give back in a big way to veterans and for you to do the same!
Here’s a look into one Manager’s story from our Auburndale Chili’s in Florida, who is also a beloved community veteran.
Proud to serve his country, Ray joined the Army Reserves in 1991 right out of high school. On active duty for the next 10 years, Ray spent time in Germany and Korea as well as army bases in Washington and Kansas. During his tenure, Ray worked his way up through the food service division, eventually leading the team for an entire camp.
After spending his last few years in the military as an Army Recruiter, Ray moved his family to Florida where he could retire after 21 years of incredible service. When looking for a new life venture, we jumped at the chance to add this seasoned leader to the team, and after completing all his training at the end of October, Ray is an official ChiliHead. So next time you’re in Auburndale, stop in and say thank you to Ray for his sacrifice and service for his country.
And as a thank you to all the veterans who have served as well as active-duty service men and women, we’re giving away a free meal – on us – this Monday, Nov. 11 from a special Veterans Day menu, including:
- Oldtimer® with Cheese
- Chicken Crispers®
- Margarita Chicken
- Classic Turkey Sandwich
- Lighter Choices Grilled Chicken Salad
- Soup & Salad Combo
- Full Flatbread (any flavor)
- Pizza (any flavor)
- Lunch Combo during lunch hours
In addition to a free meal, this Veterans Day we’re giving everyone a way to give back to the brave men and women who have served our country. On Sunday, Nov. 10, we’re partnering with Wounded Warrior Project® by donating 10% of net sales from Chili’s nationwide to this organization dedicated to assisting injured service members and veterans. All you have to do is mention Wounded Warrior Project to your server to help give to injured veterans and service members.
Another way to give is by scanning the QR code on the back of our Heinz® Ketchup bottles. When you scan the code, you can write a thank you card to those men and women who serve our country every day. The thank you will generate a $1 donation to Wounded Warrior Project, up to $250,000.
